Artikel

March 2018

This type of visa is not intended for taking up permanent employment!!!

For comprehensive information on the Working Holiday Program with your respective country and visa requirements (i.e. concerning proof of funds and medical insurance) please consult the website of the German Embassy or Consulate General in your home country.

The Working Holiday Visa Program (WHP) is based on bilateral agreements between the Federal Republic of Germany and Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, SAR Hongkong, Taiwan and Uruguay, as well as a Youth Mobility Program with Canada.

These programs aim at enabling young people to gain insight into culture and daily life in the Federal Republic of Germany. The intention is to promote increased mutual understanding and the applicant’s primary aim should be to visit Germany. Employment is permitted throughout the validity of the visa (max 12 months) but has to remain of temporary character in order to facilitate additional financial means to your holiday travel intentions in Germany. German language skills and work experience are not condition to the visa process but likely to improve your chances of finding work.
